KTR plants sapling with KCR on birthday, skips celebrations in solidarity with protesting youth
BRS working president KT Rama Rao marked his birthday by planting a sapling with party chief K Chandrashekhar Rao at Erravalli farmhouse, supporting the Green India Challenge. He skipped formal celebrations to stand in solidarity with youth protests at Jantar Mantar and joined a student-led demonstration at Indira Park demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over the NEET paper leak.
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao celebrated his birthday by planting a sapling with BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao and other family members at the latter’s farmhouse in Erravalli on Friday.
K. Chandrashekhar Rao blessed Rama Rao on the occasion. The BRS working president planted the sapling in support of the Green India Challenge, honouring a request made by its founder and former MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar.
Rama Rao chose not to hold formal birthday celebrations as a mark of solidarity with the youth protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar against the Central government’s stance.
As part of the programme, the BRS student wing organised a protest at Indira Park in support of students affected by the NEET paper leak. The protesters demanded the resignation of union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him responsible for the incident.
Rama Rao attended the protest as the chief guest before proceeding directly to K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s residence in Erravalli.
