Hyderabad: TPCC spokesperson Dasoju Sravan has alleged that Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao was politicising the flood issue in the State. He blamed both State and Centre for indulging in a slugfest while the farmers and citizens of Hyderabad were suffering in the aftermath of the deluge.

“Before blaming Congress leaders for campaigning in Dubbak while Hyderabad was facing the worst flood situation, the TRS must tell us where the Minister and corporators were when the city was flooded. It was only after Congress leaders visited MS Maktha did the TRS leaders venture out of their homes,” he said. He further alleged that flood relief declared by the State government did not reach the genuine victims.

He pointed out that while the State government was blaming the Centre for not releasing relief, the Union government was saying that the State government has not submitted details of the damage. “Why are the officials not giving us details of the extent of damage? Have they not prepared and submitted one to the Centre?” he asked.

“Why doesn’t Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy, who is blaming the State government, move privilege motion if the State officials are not cooperating with him. Why all this drama?” he asked. He also wanted to know if the State government was ready to demolish illegal properties including the Owaisi School in Bandlaguda.
