Rajanna-Sircilla: BRS working president KT Rama Rao vowed to develop all government schools in the State on par with corporate schools. He said all government schools would be developed with better infrastructure and facilities than corporate schools after the BRS returns to power in the State.

People should feel that education in government schools is better than that in private institutions, Rama Rao said while distributing tablets to 30 students who secured the highest marks in the SSC examinations under the Gift a Smile programme at Geetanagar Zilla Parishad High School in Sircilla on Tuesday.

Rama Rao said his son had recently visited the Geetanagar school in Sircilla, which was developed with modern facilities. Besides this school, eight government schools were developed during the BRS regime. Taking the initiative further, the Gambhiraopet school was developed as a KG-to-PG centre.

Speaking about the Gift a Smile programme, BRS leaders said that around 6,000 students had earlier been provided iPads under the initiative. They said the programme would be expanded from next year to include Intermediate and degree students as well.

Students who secure ranks in IIT and IIM would also be extended support, Rama Rao assured, and asked students to approach him if they required any assistance.

Advising students to fulfil the dreams of their parents, Rama Rao said that although parents may not openly express their feelings, they take pride in their children’s achievements.
