Hyderabad: TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao questioned the discrimination of the Narendra Modi government towards Telangana in sanction of not even one Central educational institution, despite repeated requests at all levels. He was responding to a tweet by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over inaugurating 11 new medical colleges in Tamil Nadu.

“On this #NationalYouthDay on behalf of Telangana youth & students, request you to make amends at the earliest. In the last 7 years, not even one educational institution has been sanctioned by NDA Govt to Telangana despite many requests at all levels. (sic)” he tweeted.

The union government has sanctioned 157 medical colleges, 84 Navodaya educational institutions, 16 IIITs, seven each of IIMs and IITs, four NIDs and two IISERs to various States across the country. However, not even a single institution was sanctioned to Telangana despite numerous requests from the State government over seven and half years of the NDA rule at the Centre.
