KTR questions Revanth Reddy’s claims on Telangana’s interest repayment
Referring to the recently released Handbook of Statistics on Indian States 2024 by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), he dismissed claims that Telangana’s interest payments amount to Rs.50,000-Rs 65,000 crore per annum
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for misleading the public regarding Telangana’s financial situation.
Referring to the recently released Handbook of Statistics on Indian States 2024 by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), he dismissed claims that Telangana’s interest payments amount to Rs.50,000-Rs 65,000 crore per annum.
“Is your government a factory of lies? Both your words and actions are lies. Deceiving people with falsehoods and illusions seems to be your policy,” he said.
The RBI report clarified that Telangana’s interest payments for the 2023-24 year stood at Rs 22,406 crore, directly contradicting the inflated figures being circulated.
“For whom are these untruths fabricated? Is it to carry the moneybags to Delhi or to fill your own pockets?” Rama Rao asked, adding that Revanth Reddy’s statements proved that his governance style was built on deceit.
