Hyderabad: Nishanth, an eight-year-old boy, came into contact with an electrical transformer at East Maruti Nagar, A.S. Rao Nagar and suffered serious injuries earlier this week. He is reportedly in a critical situation, admitted in a private hospital in the city.
According to a video that has been doing rounds on social media, the child’s mother, Dharavath Janaki, is seen appealing for financial help to cover the treatment costs.
The video shows a teary-eyed Janaki, a single mother, giving details of how Nishanth was playing outside their house and got in physical contact with a transformer.
When an activist from the city tweeted a screen-grab of the boy in the hospital, requesting the IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao for help, he immediately responded on the microblogging platform.
Instructing his office to assist with the situation, Rama Rao tagged his office’s twitter handle @KTROffice and tweeted saying “Will take care of Nishanth @KTRoffice please contact and assist.”
