Hyderabad: It is not often we see a kid complaining about civic issues and a Minister responding to it promptly. However, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao has not just responded to a complaint by a kid but also assured prompt action.

On Saturday, Karthikeya, a second standard student from a city school, complained through a handwritten letter about an incomplete footpath near his house in Boudh Nagar, Secunderabad. A Twitter user by the name News Wala tweeted to the Minister the handwritten letter of the child. In the letter, Karthikeya sought the completion of footpath works near his house and also mentioned that the footpath works were left midway.

The Minister has been an active Twitter user and be it medicines or beds or the recent tweet inviting Tesla CEO Elon Musk that triggered a storm on the Internet, he has responded to tweets within no time. Responding to the child’s complaint, the Minister directed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Zonal Commissioner of Secunderabad Zone to address the issue and send a picture of the child.

“Cute but serious complaint from young Karthikeya! Request @ZC_Secunderabad to address this personally and send me a pic of the complainant with you,” the Minister tweeted.

Following this, the GHMC Zonal Commissioner of Secunderabad, Srinivas Reddy visited the place and assured the kid that the footpath works will commence from Monday.

“The kid was very active, while interacting, we were very happy to see him taking interest in social issues at such a young age. We enjoyed meeting the young complainant and assured him that the work will start soon,” said Reddy.

The Zonal Commissioner also received appreciation from the Minister on Twitter after he attended the complaint and posted the pictures of GHMC officials along with the young complainant.
