KTR rules out Congress comeback in Telangana for next 20 years

BRS working president KT Rama Rao declared that Congress has lost public trust in Telangana after two-and-a-half years of governance, citing corruption, scams, and unfulfilled promises. He also criticised the BJP-led Central government over rising LPG prices, urging BRS leaders to organise protests.

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao stated that after experiencing the Congress rule in the last two-and-a-half years, Telangana people would not vote for the Congress again. “Congress party’s return to power in Telangana for the next two decades is unlikely” Rama Rao stressed.

The BRS working president held a meeting with senior party leaders from erstwhile Rangareddy district at his Nandi Nagar residence here on Saturday. The Congress had misled all sections of society with unrealistic promises. The people were closely watching what he described as rising corruption, lawlessness and scams, he said.

“Corruption has increased across all sectors and the Congress is focusing on commissions and wealth accumulation. In Ranga Reddy district, a few Ministers are linked to land-related irregularities and illegal mining,” Rama Rao charged, adding that these developments had led to growing public anger.

The BRS working president minced no words in criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre on different issues.

Citing the recent increase in LPG cylinder prices as an example, he said rising fuel and gas costs were adding pressure on households. “All the BRS party leaders should organise protests against the Central government in respective areas and create awareness among people on price hikes,” Rama Rao said and demanded an immediate rollback of the increased LPG prices.

The BRS working president also reviewed party organisational matters and outlined plans for the party’s membership drive and formation of committees. He asked leaders to actively participate in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to prevent irregularities being committed by both Congress and BJP parties.

He stressed on the need to ensure that all eligible voters are enrolled and cautioned against alleged attempts by rival parties to manipulate voter lists. Appealing to the party leaders to remain vigilant and safeguard voting rights, he directed the party cadre to prepare for the forthcoming municipal elections. He also congratulated party leaders on recent successes in local body elections.

Former Ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy and Ch Malla Reddy, along with other MLAs, MLCs and senior leaders, participated in the meeting.
