Hyderabad: Taking a sharp jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his party’s misrule in Telangana and the wreck brought about by its governance in the State, BRS working President K T Rama Rao on Saturday blamed it all on its ill-advised moves and the disruptive potential unleashed by the administration during its 17 month rule.
Ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled appearance at the Bharat Summit in Hyderabad, the BRS leader shared with him a list of places, urging him to visit without fail to know for himself the Congress government failures.
The list includes Lagacharla village, where tribal communities have fiercely resisted land acquisition for a Pharma Village project and Sunkishala, a vital water project site for Hyderabad that has faced setbacks due to infrastructure failures and collapse of retainer wall. He also pointed to Hydra demolition sites, representing efforts to reclaim lands, and the Musi demolition site, part of a riverfront development project that displaced thousands of families.
Other locations include the HCU Kancha Gachibowli, where 400 acres of land area was embroiled in ecological and ownership controversy and the homes of families affected by tragedies such as the deaths of over 100 Gurukul students due to food poisoning and other reasons and the suicides of more than 500 farmers driven by debt and crop failures.
K T Rama Rao also highlighted the SLBC tunnel collapse, a tragic incident exposing infrastructure issues and the Ashok Nagar, a coaching centres hub for job aspirants who were promised government jobs by Congress. He reminded Rahul Gandhi of Congress’s unfulfilled promises, including the pledge to provide two lakh government jobs within the first year of governance and financial assistance under the “Yuva Vikasam” scheme. In an obvious reference to ED raid on Minister for Revenue Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s properties and who preferred to be silent afterwards, he criticised the ability of the Congress Ministers to manage the Enforcement Directorate.
