KTR shares video on Kothwalguda eco park, says it is a good addition to Hyderabad’s beautiful landscape
BRS Working President KT Rama Rao shared a video of the upcoming Eco Park at Kothwalguda, set to open in December. Spread over 125 acres near Himayat Sagar, the park will feature India’s largest aviary, an aquarium, landscaped gardens, a 1.5 km boardwalk, and a suspension bridge across the ORR.

Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Thursday shared a video highlighting the upcoming Eco Park set to be inaugurated soon at Kothwalguda.
The video posted on X (previously Twitter), showcases various features of the park, which is expected to offer green spaces and recreational facilities for the public.
“Glad that the Eco Park at Kothwalguda abutting Himayat Sagar lake is almost complete. A good addition to Hyderabad’s beautiful landscape,” he wrote.
Rama Rao, while he was the MA&UD minister in the previous BRS government, laid the foundation on October 11, 2022 for the eco park which is spread over 125 acres.
The blueprint of India’s largest aviary, aquarium, boardwalks, landscaped parks built in eco-park was approved by Rama Rao as the MA&UD Minister and work taken up by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
A boardwalk, is one of the highlights in Eco Park and has a length of 1.50 km with 2.4 metres width with a height of 2 feet to 30 feet depending on ground elevation. A railing of one metre height, and composite wood flooring with four shades at different locations have been provided, Forest Range Officer, Eco Park, Satyanarayanamma told ‘Telangana Today’.
The aviary with exotic bird species has a 164-metre walkway, a 1.10 km pathway, two ponds for reptiles, bird cages, three gazebos, bird hospitals, bird kiosks and bird feeder boxes, according to officials.
Additionally, a suspension bridge will connect land pockets on both sides of ORR, the official said. The HMDA is planning to inaugurate the Eco Park in December.
