Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao hit out at the Congress government in the wake of two shocking crimes within a week, saying they reflected the deteriorating law and order situation in Hyderabad.

“In just one week, Hyderabad has witnessed a daylight gunpoint robbery in a jewellery store and the brutal murder of a 12-year-old girl in Kukatpally. Under the Congress government, the rising crime rate is putting public safety in danger. Citizens deserve protection, not fear,” he said.

Instead of strengthening the police force, the ruling party had pushed efficient Telangana police officers into political witch-hunts, leaving people of the State vulnerable to criminals, he said.

“This is the result of not paying attention to law and order,” he added.
