Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his call to TDP cadre to destroy BRS flagposts and pedestals, BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised him for behaving like a criminal and abandoning his constitutional responsibility to maintain law and order. He reminded Revanth Reddy that he was not only the Chief Minister, but also the Home Minister of Telangana.

“How can the Home Minister of the State openly provoke unlawful activity? Are you a Chief Minister or a gangster? Is it not shameful to speak in a manner that encourages crime?” he asked.

Reacting to the Chief Minister’s remarks, Rama Rao said it was unfortunate that those opening the doors to anarchy were running the State, which was once hailed as a national model for law and order. Revanth Reddy was rattled by the continued public support for the BRS flag and was now lashing out in frustration, he said.

“The Chief Minister has clearly lost his mental balance after facing intense public resentment over his failed governance in just two years, prompting him to make such statements,” he said.

The BRS working president demanded that the Telangana Police and the DGP, who frequently file cases over social media posts, should initiate immediate action against the Chief Minister for his provocative remarks.

He sensed a deeper political conspiracy, stating that Revanth Reddy’s comments had also exposed his alignment with the Telugu Desam Party. He said the Chief Minister was acting on the directions of his old boss N Chandrababu Naidu, causing irreparable damage to Telangana’s water interests.

“It is now evident that Revanth Reddy realised that the Congress was a sinking ship and was preparing to abandon it. His deals with the BJP on one side and attempts to revive the TDP on the other will be defeated by four crore Telangana people,” he said, predicting a heavy political price for covert politics and betrayal of the State.
