Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Minister D Anasuya alias Seethakka for the suicide of Mahesh, a sanitation worker in Mulugu Municipality, who ended his life allegedly after being denied salary for five months.
Calling it a State murder, Rama Rao said the incident exposed the Congress government’s failure to honour its election promise of paying salaries to the government employees on the first of every month. “How will poor workers survive if wages are pending for months? The Chief Minister and the Minister must apologise to the people,” he said.
He demanded an ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh to Mahesh’s family and a government job for his wife. He warned that the BRS would intensify its agitation until justice was delivered.
