Hyderabad: In a scathing attack on Congress Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday called out the Congress’s blatant double standards and selective outrage over BJP’s favouritism for Adani Group.

He questioned the Congress’s inconsistency in criticising the BJP’s association with industrialist Gautam Adani while remaining silent on similar collaborations involving Congress-led states.

“Mr Rahul Gandhi, your dual ideology is baffling. Please do clarify,” he remarked.

In response to Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Ek hain toh safe hain’ campaign over Modi-Adani nexus in Maharashtra, Rama Rao lambasted the Congress for crying foul over the ₹1 lakh crore Dharavi redevelopment project under Modi-Adani but conveniently turning a blind eye to the ₹1.5 lakh crore Musi River rejuvenation project under Congress rule in Telangana.

“If it is a scam when Modi & Adani come together? Then how is everything ‘safe’ when it is Revanth & Adani?” he asked. He also sought to know when Rs 1 lakh crore being spent on Dharavi redevelopment project in Maharashtra is a scam, then how is everything safe when Rs 1.5 lakh crore spent on Musi River rejuvenation project.

The BRS working president didn’t stop there. He wanted to know whether Congress’s concept of “safe” changes from State to State, or perhaps, from election to election. “How is your ‘safe’ different from BJP’s ‘safe?” he asked sarcastically.

Taking a final jab, Rama Rao declared that both BJP and Congress are twin threats. “Both BJP and Congress are not safe for either democracy or development,” he asserted.
