Khammam: IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao is expected to visit Khammam next week to inaugurate several development projects. Though he was scheduled to visit the city on March 29, his tour was deferred due to the Holi festival. During his visit, the Minister will inaugurate the new RTC bus stand, double bedroom houses, and others at Tekulapalli.
Also, the IT Minister, along with Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy will lay the foundation stone for the second phase of IT Hub and four-lane works of a road stretch from Sri Sri Circle to the new Collectorate, Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar said here on Saturday.
Ajay Kumar, along with SUDA chairman B Vijay Kumar, District Collector RV Karnan and other officials inspected and reviewed the progress of the RTC bus stand, double bedroom houses and Munneru Vaikunta Dhamam works that neared completion.
The Transport Minister Kumar directed the engineering officials and contract agencies to complete pending works related to the entrance arch, lighting, seating, fountain, cellar and drinking water at the RTC bus stand and hand it over to RTC officials in a couple of days. He warned that action will be initiated against the officials concerned and the contract agencies if the works of the RTC bus stand were not completed within two days.
Collector Karnan said steps would be taken to make the bus stand ready for inauguration as per the schedule. He said it was a matter of pride that the second biggest bus stand was coming up in Khammam, thanks to Minister Ajay Kumar. The officials were directed to carry out the works round the clock.
Later speaking to media persons at the Collectorate, Karnan informed that as many as 1,104 double bedroom houses were constructed with an expenditure of Rs 60 crore at Tekulapalli while Munneru Vaikunta Dhamam was developed with Rs 2 crore. He informed that nearly Rs 35 crore would be spent on a four-lane road from Sri Sri Circle to the new Collectorate.
Minister Rama Rao would also inaugurate a newly-built municipal building at Sathupally town and lay the foundation stone for an integrated market complex. Municipal Commissioner Anurag Jayanthi, Additional Collector N Madhusudan and others were present.
