Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Friday visited the residence of former MLA Balka Suman in Hyderabad and met his family members, assuring them of the party’s full support.
He expressed solidarity with the family and told them not to worry as the party was standing by Suman and his family.
Suman was arrested on May 30, for alleged militant activity remarks against Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
During his visit, Rama Rao said the Congress government imprisoned Suman by filing illegal cases because he was fighting for public issues and questioning alleged corruption in Singareni. He termed Suman a strong opposition leader and said the cases were politically motivated.
He accused the government of attempting to suppress opposition voices through cases and intimidation. Despite such actions, he said, BRS leaders would continue their fight and would not be deterred by what he called political vendetta. He also exuded confidence that the party continues to enjoy public support.
