Jagtial: BRS working president KT Rama Rao was given a rousing welcome in Jagtial when he arrived in the town to meet senior leader T Jeevan Reddy. Jagtial town wore a pink look as BRS party flags and flexis were arranged in different parts of the town in the wake of Rama Rao’s visit.
Party leaders and workers, who gathered in large numbers, received the BRS working president at Dharur on the outskirts of Jagtial town and took out a huge bike rally in the town. Later, Rama Rao, along with senior party leaders, visited the house of Jeevan Reddy and welcomed him into the party.
Expressing happiness over the visit of BRS leaders to his residence, Jeevan Reddy assured that he would join the party. Before that, he said he would like to meet the party president K Chandrashekhar Rao to recall the memories of their friendship.
Jeevan Reddy, who started his political career as Panchayat Samithi president of Mallial, was elected as MLA six times and served as minister three times. The first time, he was elected as an MLA on a Telugu Desam Party ticket in 1983 and worked as Excise Minister in Nadendla Bhaskar Rao’s cabinet.

Jeevan Reddy contested against BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao in the 2006 and 2008 by-elections for Karimnagar Parliament constituency and was defeated.
On March 25, he resigned from the Congress party due to differences with the party leadership, ending a 43-year-long association with the party.
