Hyderabad: BRS working president and former IT Minister KT Rama Rao said Hyderabad had emerged as a globally recognised semiconductor and deep technology hub. He attributed the city’s growth to its talent pool, industry collaboration and long-term vision for technology-led development.

Speaking at the inauguration of Kandou AI’s India Chip Design Headquarters in Kondapur here on Friday, Rama Rao said the company’s decision to establish its India headquarters in Hyderabad reaffirmed the city’s growing stature in the global semiconductor industry. “Kandou AI’s decision to establish its India headquarters here is another testament to Hyderabad’s emergence as a globally recognised semiconductor and deep technology hub,” he said.

He expressed confidence that the company would contribute to innovation, high-value employment and the expansion of Telangana’s semiconductor ecosystem.

The Hyderabad facility of the Switzerland-headquartered fabless semiconductor company would serve as a strategic engineering hub for advanced chip design, high-speed connectivity and next-generation AI infrastructure. The centre will house engineering teams engaged in chip design, verification, validation, firmware, software and systems engineering, besides customer-facing technical functions.

Kandou AI CEO and co-founder Srujan Linga said Hyderabad offered exceptional semiconductor engineering talent and that the company was committed to building world-class technologies from the city while partnering with academia, industry and government to develop the next generation of semiconductor professionals.
