Hyderabad: Telangana Bhavan wore a festive look on Thursday as BRS working president KT Rama Rao celebrated his 49th birthday, with party leaders, cadres, and fans gathering from across the State. Supporters cut cakes and took part in celebratory events to mark the occasion.
The BRS cadre organised celebrations across Telangana with enthusiasm. While some distributed fruits and sweets, others fed the needy, planted saplings, and handed out seedlings. Cultural programmes were held, and many pledged to strengthen the party under Rama Rao’s leadership.
Several party leaders contributed to the “Gift a Smile” initiative launched by the former Minister by distributing notebooks, laptops, extending financial aid to students, and donating bicycles.
Overwhelmed by the support, Rama Rao expressed gratitude to his followers. “I will never be able to repay the love and dedication I received. With your blessings, I will continue to serve the people with even greater enthusiasm,” he said.
He visited his parents, BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao and Shobhamma, at their Nandinagar residence, along with his wife and son, to take their blessings.
Later, Rama Rao visited the residence of BRS social media activist Shashidhar Goud alias Nalla Balu in Sangareddy, celebrating his birthday with the family to send a strong message of solidarity to the party cadre. Shashidhar had earlier been jailed for sharing a post from the BRS official social media handle.
Birthday greetings poured in from all quarters, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, YSRCP president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and D. Sridhar Babu, and actor Ram Charan, among others, extending wishes for a healthy and successful life.
Meanwhile, controversy erupted over the removal of Rama Rao’s birthday flexis and hoardings in Hyderabad. BRS workers alleged that GHMC and HYDRAA staff selectively removed cut-outs erected by BRS supporters while leaving posters and banners of Congress and BJP leaders, including those of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, untouched.
