Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday shared a cryptic message on social media, asserting that respect is earned and self-respect cannot be compromised. Quoting, “I don’t treat people badly, I treat them accordingly,” he stopped short of naming anyone or explaining the context.
The post came amid media reports alleging that Rama Rao had shown disrespect to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy during proceedings in the Assembly. The reports referred to an incident in which Revanth Reddy walked up to greet BRS chief and Leader of the Opposition K Chandrashekhar Rao.
While Chandrashekhar Rao and other BRS legislators stood up to greet the Chief Minister, Rama Rao was seen remaining seated in his designated place. The visual sparked political debate in vernacular media and also on social media, with sections of the media portraying it as a breach of Assembly etiquette. However, netizens came in his support, underscoring his position on dignity and self-respect.
