Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s intervention ensured the release and safe return of six Telangana residents who had been imprisoned in Malaysia. While three of them returned last month, the remaining three reached their homes on Monday.
Rachakonda Naresh and Gunda Srinivas from Lingapura village in Kaddam mandal of Nirmal district, and Yamunoori Ravinder from Munyal village in Dasturabad mandal of Adilabad district, were among those who returned. Their families expressed heartfelt gratitude to Rama Rao and Khanapur constituency in-charge and senior BRS leader Bhukya Johnson Naik, who played a key role in facilitating their release.
Naresh, Srinivas and Ravinder, along with Talari Bhaskar, Gurujala Shankar and Gurijala Rajeshwar, had travelled to Malaysia last year in search of employment. However, they were arrested on arms-related charges, reportedly due to lack of awareness of local laws.
After their families reached out for help, Rama Rao directed Johnson Naik to take up the matter and ensure their safe return. Responding promptly, Naik coordinated with Malaysian authorities and the embassies of both countries, arranged legal assistance, and facilitated their release. He also bore the travel expenses to bring them back to India.
