Labour Department directs SGEL Mancherial to clear statutory benefits of workers

Mancherial: The Labour Department has reportedly directed the management of Shalivahana Green Energy Limited (SGEL)-Mancherial to pay statutory benefits to employees. The employees, who attended a meeting with the management of the power producer held in presence of the department’s joint commissioner in Warangal on Tuesday, announced this.
Workers’ association president Kuntala Shankar said the commissioner instructed the management to clear the statutory benefits of the workers at the earliest. He announced that they would launch a protest if the management did not pay the benefits within two weeks. He regretted that they were running from pillar to post seeking post since the abrupt closure of the company 26 months ago.
Honorary president of the association Madduri Raju, general secretary Nimmarajula Satyam, vice president Sagguri Anand Rao, treasurer Satyam, leaders Ravula Tirupati, Kaiti Buchaiah, Siripuram Tirupathi, Isarapu Shankar and Gellu Ellaiah were present.
