Hyderabad: A 45-year-old daily wage labourer died allegedly by suicide, by holding onto an electrical transformer at Asifnagar on Tuesday night.
According to the police, Hanumanthu, a resident of Jhirra, had gone home drunk and picked up a quarrel with his wife on Tuesday night. She reportedly scolded him for coming home drunk and creating nuisance regularly.
“Infuriated over this, Hanumanthu left home and walked to the nearby electrical transformer. He then caught hold of the electrical wires and died due to electrocution,” Asifnagar police said.
The police shifted the body to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and are investigating.
