Adilabad: Hundreds of residents from various villages in Bela mandal staged a protest on Monday, urging the State government to issue Scheduled Tribe (ST) community certificates to members of the Lambada community.
The protesters expressed concern that the absence of valid community certificates was depriving their children of statutory benefits. They lamented that eligible candidates were losing out on educational reservations and government job opportunities reserved for STs, as they were unable to furnish the necessary documentation during recruitment processes.
The residents said they had been appealing for the issuance of ST certificates for a long time, but their requests remained unaddressed. They demanded that the government act swiftly to resolve the issue and warned of launching a larger agitation if their demands continued to be ignored.
