Karimnagar: Activists of the SFI, DYFI and AIDWA staged a dharna at Telangana Chowk here on Tuesday, demanding the immediate arrest of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son Sai Bageerath in the POCSO case.

They raised slogans against the Union Minister as well as the State government for delaying the arrest of Bageerath. Speaking on the occasion, they alleged that Sanjay Kumar was trying to shield his son by using his political influence. Sanjay Kumar was holding a position to protect the law. What kind of message would he give to society when the violation of law had taken place in his own house, they questioned. They demanded that the Union Minister resign from his post.

The Left-wing activists found fault with BJP leaders for not reacting to the POCSO case. Except for creating unrest in society in the name of religion, BJP leaders would not bother about other issues, they alleged. They criticised the police for not taking any action in the case.
