Siddipet: Villagers of Burugupally are in a grip of fear after two leopard cubs were seen moving close to the village on Tuesday around 6 pm. Though the mother was not sighted, it was believed to be in the vicinity.

The farmers, who went to the outskirts of the village to milk buffaloes in their sheds, noticed the movement of the two cubs. However, no one sighted the mother. They immediately fled into the village for safety. Later, the villagers called the police and forest department officials.

After talking to the villagers, Forest officials collected the pug marks. Though the mother leopard was not sighted, officials believe it could also be in the same vicinity.

The officials have suggested to the villagers not move alone on the outskirts of the village until the leopard retreats into the forest area. The officials said they would keep a close watch on the movement of the leopard and her cubs.
