Hyderabad: As part of the 152nd birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi, a photo exhibition ‘Life and Times of Mahatma Gandhi’ is on at Shilparamam. It is being organised by the Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
Inaugurating the exhibition on Friday, MLC Surabhi Vani Devi said the idea of conducting such exhibitions and programmes helps instil a sense of pride and emphasise India’s glorious history and culture. She said the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi were still very relevant in the present time.
Shruti Patil, Director, PIB & ROB, said a series of events and exhibitions are being held by the Field Units of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at Hyderabad, Warangal, Nizamabad, Nalgonda marking nationwide celebrations of the 152nd birth anniversary of the Mahatma as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’. NYK Regional Director Anshuman Das unveiled the Clean India Poster.
The exhibition showcases rare photos of Mahatma Gandhi depicting important moments of his life. Photographs relating to his arrival in India from South Africa, non-cooperation movement, Salt Satyagraha, Quit India movement, participation in the freedom struggle, activities at Sabarmati Ashram and others are on display.
The exhibition is open for the public till October 3.
