Light to moderate rains in Mancherial, Nirmal districts

Mancherial: Several parts of Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts registered light to moderate rains on Monday.

Thandur, Nennal, Vemanapalli, Nennal, Mancherial, Chennur and Kotapalli mandals recorded somewhere between 16 mm and 60 mm of rainfall. Dandepalli, Bheemini, Kaspet, Mandamarri, Jannaram, Hajipur and other mandals saw below 15 mm of rainfall. The average rainfall of the district is 11 mm. The district so far registered 985 mm as against normal 985 mm.


Basar, Thanur and Narsapur (G) mandals of Nirmal district, Tiryani mandal in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district had anywhere between 16 mm and 50 mm rainfall. Many mandals of the two districts witnessed light rainfall of around 10 mm. Hilly streams were swelled resulting in inflows into irrigation tanks and projects of Mancherial, Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts.

Meanwhile, irrigation projects received copious inflows. Sripada Yellampalli Project at Gudipet village in Hajipur mandal saw inflows of 3.12 lakh cusecs. The water level reached 18.457 tmcs as against the storage capacity 20.175 tmcs. Surplus was discharged by lifting 36 gates. Similarly, Kadem Narayan Reddy Project had 14,792 cusecs of inflows. Project had 7.033 tmcs as against the capacity of 7.603 tmcs.
