Siddipet: One person died and five others were injured in two separate incidents of lightning strike in Thoguta Mandal of Siddipet district on Monday.
The district received rain coupled with thunderbolts in isolated places. A 32-year-old man, Patnam Narasimhulu, died at Manthur village in Thoguta Mandal. Narasimhulu was working in his farm when lightning struck him, killing him on the spot.
Meanwhile, five women, who were sitting under a tractor trolley to protect themselves from the rain, fell unconscious when lightning struck the tractor. The victims – Lakshmi, Bheemari Yellavva, Besta Venkatappa, Bejjamoina Sujatha and another woman were rushed to a hospital. They recovered quickly as doctors provided them treatment. Their condition is stable.
Meanwhile, several places in Sangareddy, Siddipet and Medak districts witnessed rain coupled with thunderbolts on Monday evening.
