Lions club gesture to flood-affected families in Warangal

Warangal Urban: Lions Governor (320F) Tammera Laxmi Narsimha Rao on Friday said that all the 75 Lions Clubs in the district were always ready to lend a helping hand to the needy in the erstwhile Warangal district. “Lions Clubs has so far conducted over 2,000 service activities since July 1 this year,” he said.
He along with the other members of the District Service Team (DST) distributed 25 kg rice, pulses, salt, and blankets along with the other daily necessities to 350 families in the flood-affected localities of the city including Sammaiah Nagar, Julywada, Bokkalagadda, Hasanparthy of Hanamkonda besides Desaipet through Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) Disaster Relief Fund (DRF) on Thursday.
Vice District Governors Mucha Raja Reddy and Kanna Parashu Ramulu said that the LCIF Covid grants were received for the combined Warangal 320F District last year.
Katanguru Ramgopal Reddy, District Communicator, has briefed about the activities of the LCIF. “Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) Disaster Relief fund is constituted and has been a helping hand for poor and needy affected by natural calamities, Sight First arranging a screening of eye tests and setting up for conduction of eye surgeries and also conduction of medical camps for the screening, awareness of lifestyle diseases like diabetes,” he added.
Tummeti Venkata Reddy, Kunduru Venkat Reddy, N.Venkateshwar Rao, PRO Tirunagari Narender, Region Chairpersons Dr. Ajith Kumar, Akula Mahesh Kumar, K. Sugunakar Reddy, Zone Chairpersons and Club Representatives participated in the programme.
