Local Cadre Government Teachers Association protests appointing ZP school headmasters as MEOs
Terming the orders giving ZP school HMs full additional charge as MEOs as unconstitutional, Chary and Reddy demanded the State government immediately cancel these orders and fill up MEOs positions by promoting government school assistants or giving them full additional charge
Hyderabad: Staunchly opposing the orders giving Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools’ headmasters full additional charge as mandal educational officers () and terming them unconstitutional, the Local Cadre Government Teachers Association demanded the State government to immediately revoke the orders.
Association president Veera Chary and general secretary Lakshmikantha Reddy said as per the Article 309 and Fundamental Rules 49, a ZP school headmaster should not be allotted additional responsibilities in the government post. However, the School Education director has bypassed this rule and entrusted the ZP school headmasters with a MEO position, which is a government post.
Terming the orders giving ZP school HMs full additional charge as MEOs as unconstitutional, Chary and Reddy demanded the State government immediately cancel these orders and fill up MEOs positions by promoting government school assistants or giving them full additional charge.
“If not, the government school teachers will take legal recourse,” they added.
