Locals loot fish after truck overturns in Mahabubabad

The accident caused the fish to land all over the busy road and eventually sparked a looting frenzy among the bystanders

Mahabubabad: Villagers of Maripeda landed a fresh catch in the middle of a road on Tuesday after a truck carrying live fish overturned and spilled its cargo in the middle of the road.

This was after a truck carrying a consignment of live fish heading towards Warangal from Khammam toppled in the middle of the road at Maripeda.

The accident caused the fish to land all over the busy road and eventually sparked a looting frenzy among the bystanders.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and stopped people from collecting the fish. The incident caused a heavy traffic jam on both sides of the road.

As a large number of vehicles stopped, the truck involved in the accident was removed from the place and the traffic was cleared.

The police have registered a case and investigation is underway.
