Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday said the lockdown and door to door fever survey taken up by the State government was helping in controlling the spread of COVID-19 in the State.
The Minister, who paid a surprise visit to Kamala Nehru Hospital at Nagarjuna Sagar, inspected all wards and operation theatre in the hospital. Later, holding a review meeting with the officials of medical department in the hospital, he said that Covid cases had seen a decline after imposition of lockdown. In addition to this, door-to-door fever survey was also facilitating the medical staff identify persons suffering from symptoms like fever and cold and keep them under home isolation. This is also helping in controlling the spread of the virus, he maintained.
Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had accorded top priority to the public health, he said modern treatment facilities were available in government hospital as medical equipment, infrastructure development and staff were provided to them costing thousands of crores of rupees. Doctors and medical staff have been relentlessly working to tackle the pandemic, he said.
He also inquired with the doctors about the treatment and facilities being provided to patients including corona positive cases in the hospital.
Nagarjuna Sagar MLA Nomula Bhagath, Zilla Parishad ViceChairman Erigi Peddulu and Nagarjuna Sagar mnuncipal chairperson Anush Sharath Reddy were also present.
