Lockdown: Telangana DGP makes surprise visit to police checkposts

Hyderabad: Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy made a surprise visit to police check posts at Hayathnagar, Kothaguda, Pedda Amberpet and Panama on the Vijayawada National Highway here, on Friday.
Inspecting the enforcement of the lockdown, the DGP interacted with Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat, Additional Commissioner G Sudheer Babu and officers on creations of zone wise holding areas for checking of violators. Speaking to the media later, the DGP said only very few persons were violating lockdown rules unnecessarily and sought the cooperation of people to break the chain.
The Police were permitting the movements of staff of essential services, emergency services, doctors and other paramedical staff on producing valid identity proofs to provide emergency services to those in need, he said, also commending the Rachakonda Police for working round the clock tirelessly.
