Peddapalli: Ramagundam Commissionerate police stopped movement of vehicles in the border areas as part of lockdown that came into force on Wednesday.
Except ambulances, no other vehicles have been allowed into the Commissionerate limits from the neighboring Maharashtra. Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana monitored the lockdown situation in Godavarikhani town as well as Mancherial.
Speaking on the occasion, he informed that a total of 2,000 police personnel including three IPS officers, three SPs, six DSPs have been engaged to monitor the lockdown. Around 20 teams were formed to discharge duties at 10 checkposts established in the Commissionerate limits.
Since Covid was rampant under the second wave, the State government has imposed a lockdown, he said and asked the people to cooperate with the government to check the spread of the virus by following lockdown norms.
