Loksatta Srinivas passes away with Covid in Karimnagar
Both Srinivas and his wife Madhu underwent Covid-19 test on February 1 and tested positive for coronavirus on February 2. While his wife underwent treatment in home isolation, he was admitted in the hospital on the same day.

Karimnagar: Anti-corruption crusader and Loksatta district president, Naredla Srinivas (67) passed away here on Monday. Srinivas, who was infected by the Covid-19 virus fifteen days ago, breathed his last while undergoing treatment in Rene hospital here at 6.10 am on Monday.
He is survived by wife and two sons.
Both Srinivas and his wife Madhu underwent Covid-19 test on February 1 and tested positive for coronavirus on February 2. While his wife underwent treatment in home isolation, he was admitted in the hospital on the same day.
All these days, he survived with oxygen support as his lungs were infected by 80 percent. Though the family members had tried to shift him to Hyderabad for better treatment, they failed to do due to fluctuations in oxygen levels.
A native of Kandugula of Huzurabad mandal, Srinivas pursued education in Karimnagar and joined as an employee in Union Bank and worked as Manager of Karimnagar branch.
After retirement, he started working on public issues especially against corruption under the banner of Loksatta, udhyama samsta by opening an office in Vavilalapalli.
He waged a relentless struggle on behalf of victims in the issue of ASI Mohan Reddy’s illegal financing case and did justice to victims. He also fought against the Bommakal land scam.
Being the president of Karimangar Consumers Forum, he filed a number of cases on behalf of the public.
