Medak: Lorry drivers at the Toopran godown staged a protest accusing some officials of delaying the unloading of paddy while giving priority to vehicles recommended by politicians. The drivers said they had been waiting at the godown for more than two days.
Meanwhile, farmers who reached the place also accused the officials of cutting five kg from every quintal of paddy in violation of guidelines, besides collecting Rs 72 per quintal as hamali charges.
