Karimnagar: Low lying areas in Karimnagar were inundated by flood water, with almost all drains in the town overflowing due to incessant rains since Sunday night.

Flood water entered several houses in some areas while drainage water overflowed on main roads causing inconvenience to the people. Streets in Ameernagar, Hussenipura, Gayatrinagar, Laxminagar, Jyothinagar, Siva Theater, Alkapuri colony, Ramnagar, Mankammathota, Kashmirgadda, Srinagar colony, Bhagathnagar, Ramachandrapur colony, Kothirampur, Vinayaknagar and other areas were flooded with rain waters.

Flood water entered some houses in Maruthinagar, Shashab street, and Sumangali garden street. Pits dug for construction of drainages and other works as part of Smart City programme were filled with rain water in Vidhyanagar, Ramahadrapur, Kashmirgadda and Godamgadda areas.

Three electric poles were damaged when an uprooted tree fell on power lines in the 3rd division of Kisan Nagar. Local corporator Kamsala Srinivas informed the electricity department officials and urged them to restore power at the earliest.
