Hyderabad: Sudershan and Nikhil combined well as Loyola Academy ‘A’ rallied from behind to defeat YMCA Hyderabad 87-65 in the Legends Basketball tournament, on Sunday.
The Loyola A team was trailing 31-35 at the half-time. However, they scored 42 points in the fourth quarter to cruise to a victory.
Sumith was in superb form in the first half for YMCA as he rattled the Loyola defence and his accurate shooting saw their side score 20 in the first quarter. Loyola forwards fumbled with their shots and it was only in the final quarter that Sudershan and Nikhil scored incessantly from the 3 point area as the winner scored a 42 points in the quarter, a highest score for a quarter.
Sudershan ended up with 27 points to his name while Nikhil added 23. However, Loyola B went down to KVBR 57-66. For the winners, Pratheek top-scored with 24 while Ram added 11. For the Loyola Academy B team, Shenjo scored 20 points.
Results: KVBR 66 (Pratheek 24, Ram 11) bt Loyola Academy B 57(Shenjo 20, Danny 14); Loyola Academy A 87 (Sudershan 27, Nikhil 23) bt YMCA Hyderabad 65 (Sumith 23 Bala 14).
