Hyderabad: The Dr YSR & Dr KVP Foundation will confer the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Award 2026 on the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) in recognition of its pioneering and enduring contribution to Indian agriculture, food security, sustainable development and rural livelihoods.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh and will be presented on September 2 at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Chairperson of the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, will receive the award on behalf of MSSRF.
The 2026 award to MSSRF recognises an institution that carries forward the remarkable legacy of the late Dr M.S. Swaminathan, a Bharat Ratna recipient. His scientific leadership played a historic role in India’s Green Revolution and the country’s journey from food scarcity to food self-reliance.
The Foundation’s inaugural award in 2025 was presented to Subhash Palekar Krushi (SPK) in recognition of Subhash Palekar’s pioneering work in sustainable and natural farming.
