Hyderabad: Actor Rajeev Kanakala said he would extend support to actor manchu Vishnu in the MAA (Movie Artistes Association) elections that are slated to be held on October 10.
The senior actor, who contested from the Sivaji Raja panel the previous year, had won the post – MAA Treasurer.
Speaking to press persons on Wednesday, he said, “I was the only one candidate to have won through Sivaji Raja’s panel. After joining hands with senior actor Naresh, we strove for the welfare of artistes. We worked for poor artistes who were struggling for movie roles. We provided opportunities for a total of 40 artistes. And coming to the present elections, I’ve been hearing so much criticism from the new contestants. I would pledge my support to Manchu Vishnu because he has a clear vision toward construction of the MAA building and welfare of artistes.”
He said that Nandamuri Balakrishna has extended his support to Vishnu. And very soon, all big stars like Jr NTR, Prabhas and Mahesh Babu are also likely to announce their support to Vishnu.
Rajiv Kanakala indirectly took a swipe at Prakash Raj saying, “I would provide good hospitality to any guest who visits my home. But I would never let him wield the power to solve disputes in my house.”
Actor Rajiv Kanakala has once again came to limelight with his performance as village landlord Narsimham in the latest movie ‘Love Story’ which was directed by Sekhar Kammula.
