Hyderabad: Actor Mohan Babu has appealed to members of Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) to extend support to his son Manchu Vishnu by voting in favour of him in MAA polls that are scheduled to be held on Sunday.
Stating that holding the MAA president’s post is not like a crown on the head, but is a responsibility, Mohan Babu in his letter said, “Vishnu would stand with artistes in any difficulty. “
“I am one among you all. I am an actor among all of you. I am a producer among all the producers in the film industry. I have also worked in the film direction department. I followed the path of legendary actor late Dasari Narayana Rao who always stood by poor artistes. Since the day I established Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures in 1982, I have introduced many technicians and film actors to the industry. I provided free education to the kin of many artistes in the 24 crafts and also for the children who lost their parents in the film industry. I would continue it further.
I introduced old-age pensions to movie artistes during my term as MAA president. Not just one, I’ve so many such achievements in the list. So becoming MAA president isn’t a crown but a responsibility. My son Vishnu grew up with my discipline and commitment towards work. He would put stay in the city to solve each and every problem in the association. This is my promise to everyone,” he mentioned in the letter.
