Hyderabad: Former Speaker of Telangana State Legislative Assembly S Madhusudhana Chary has been nominated as MLC under the Governor’s quota. The State Cabinet recommended his name to the Governor, following which Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan approved his name.

Earlier, the Cabinet had recommended the name of TRS leader Padi Kaushik Reddy as MLC under the Governor’s quota. However, the Governor held back the file.

Recently, the TRS has decided to field Kaushik Reddy as its candidate to the MLC seat under MLAs’ quota, the Cabinet subsequently recommended the name of Madhusudhana Chary.

In the next a couple of days, the TRS is also expected to announce the names of its candidates for 12 MLC seats under Local Authorities Constituencies. The polling for the biennial elections to these 12 MLC seats, will be held on December 10.
