Madrasa teacher gets life term in Pahadishareef POCSO case

A special court in Hyderabad sentenced a 30-year-old madrasa teacher from Mamidipally to life imprisonment under the POCSO Act for sexually assaulting a minor boy.

Hyderabad: A special court for child-related offences on Tuesday sentenced Mohammed Munawar Hussain (30), a teacher at a madrasa in Mamidipally, to life imprisonment in a POCSO case involving the sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,500 and awarded Rs 2 lakh compensation to the victim.

The case was registered at Pahadishareef police station in January 2025 after the child disclosed the assault to his family.
