Maha Shivarathri jatara to be held in Vemulawada from Mar 10-12
Directing officials to make arrangements without deviating from Covid-19 guidelines, District Collector advised devotees to follow corona norms while participating in jatara

Vemulawada: The three-day Maha Shivarathri jatara will be held in Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple, Vemulawada, from March 10 to 12.
District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar conducted a meeting with the officials of various departments to discuss arrangements on Thursday. The collector said the Jatara was always organised on a grand scale since the formation of Rajanna-Sircilla district, and it should be the same this year too.
Directing officials to make arrangements without deviating from Covid-19 guidelines, he advised devotees to follow corona norms while participating in jatara.
He instructed TSRTC officials to operate additional buses in busy routes besides running ten mini-buses to transport pilgrims from bus stand to temple.
Talking about vehicle parking, Krishna Bhaskar advised officials to identify four parking places about two kilometers away from the main temple and make basic facilities such as lighting, drinking water, toilets and others by leveling the ground.
He wanted the officials to arrange control rooms at every parking slot and set up a public address system to make announcements. He asked police officials to deploy adequate force to regulate traffic and avoid traffic jams.
Town would be decorated with special lighting arrangements. Besides pandals in temple premises, drinking water, lighting and other basic facilities would be arranged for the convenience of the devotees.
Take steps to supply continued drinking water at guest houses, pandals, parking places and other areas. Drinking water and buttermilk packets should also be supplied to pilgrims at queue lines and arrange special queue lines for town people and Shiva Diksha swamulu.
Besides setting up first aid centers in different places, medical officers, paramedical staff, community health officers and ambulances would also be made available in jatara. It was necessary to make available rescue teams, wheel chairs, and stretchers at queue lines.
Collector instructed Cooperative Electric Supply Society (CESS) authorities to supply uninterrupted current supply and arrange generators to use in emergency.
He instructed fisheries department officials to arrange professional swimmers and provide required equipment to them. Besides existing kalyanakatta, more number of kalyanakattas should also be arranged for the convenience of pilgrims.
Superintendent of Police, Rahul Hegde informed that in the wake of Sammakka-Sarakka jatara, rush of devotees at sivaratri jatara was less last year. However, more number of pilgrims are likely to take part in jatara this time around, SP presumed and informed to make adequate security arrangements.
