Mahabubabad: A marsh crocodile (mugger) was caught in a fishing net in Bomabai Kunta tank in Gudur mandal in the district on Wednesday. The fishermen who took out the crocodile informed the forest officials who shifted the crocodile in a vehicle and released it in Pakhal Lake in Warangal Rural district.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Forest Range Officer (FRO) Amrutha Bhukya said that the crocodile was more than six years old, six feet in length and weighed about 100 kg. The fishermen heaved a sigh of relief as they were apprehensive of a crocodile attack for the past few months.
