Mahabubabad police risk lives to save youth from suicide attempt on railway track
Mahabubabad police, led by CI Anjali, risked their lives to rescue a 26-year-old youth attempting suicide by lying on a railway track near Mahabubabad station in the early hours of Wednesday. The team spotted him moments before a speeding train approached and pulled him to safety.

Mahabubabad: Risking their lives Mahabubabad police saved a youth who attempted suicide by laying himself on a railway track near Mahabubabad railway station.
According to sources, Mahabubabad Rural CI Anjali received an urgent message from the DG control room at around 2:44 am on Wednesday stating that a young man was lying on the railway track in Mahabubabad intending to commit suicide.
Responding swiftly, CI Anjali alerted her team via wireless communication. Acting promptly, she, along with SI Sudarshan, Blue Colts personnel and police staff rushed to the railway tracks without wasting a minute. They ran along the tracks in the darkness, searching for the youth.
However, locating him proved difficult; because he was lying flat on the tracks and was not visible in the dark. Just then, Manuguru Superfast Express was speeding towards them and at the very last moment, the young man was spotted on the tracks.
Had there been a delay of even a minute, a precious life would have been crushed under the train’s wheels. Yet, CI Anjali and her team did not pause to consider the danger to their own lives even though approaching the train posed a significant risk and they rescued the youth.
The youth was later identified as Shaik Waseem (26) of Yellandu in Kothagudem district. He was subsequently brought to Mahabubabad town police station and counselled. His parents were informed and he was handed over to them.
Mahabubabad SP Dr. Sabarish P commended the CI Anjali, SI Sudarshan, Blue Colts personnel, and other police staff for the presence of mind, courage, and dedication to service they demonstrated in saving a precious life.
