Mahabubabad: Villagers stop people performing puja in forest suspecting witchcraft
Reports indicate that villagers passing through the forest near Bamandlapali spotted around ten individuals, including transgender persons, preparing for a ritual with puja materials. Alarmed, they notified other villagers, who quickly arrived at the scene and apprehended those performing the puja.
Mahabubabad: Tension flared up in Bamandlapali Lakshmipuram village of Mahabubabad mandal after locals caught a few persons, including transgenders, suspecting them of performing black magic on Thursday midnight.
According to reports, villagers, who were passing through the forest near Bamandlapali, saw about ten people along with transgenders preparing for a ritual with puja materials and alerted the villagers. The villagers rushed to the spot and caught hold of the people performing puja.
The people told the villagers that since it was Amavasya (New Moon) they were performing puja. However, the villagers questioned the presence of transgenders during the puja and asked them to leave the place.
Following pressure from the villagers, the people left the forest without performing the ritual.
