Mahabubnagar: District Collector S Venkat Rao on Tuesday said multi-pronged measures, including increased testing, second dose of vaccination and shifting those who test positive to isolation centres being set up as part of fever survey, were being adopted to bring Covid positivity rate down.
Addressing doctors, POs and supervisors through a video conference here, he said a coordinated effort from all departments was required to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the district. Following the State government’s directions to increase Corona tests, the district administration was gearing up to conduct 3600 tests besides commencing second dose of vaccination for all the eligible people, he said.
Clear instructions have been issued to doctors in PHCs and health staff that only second dose of vaccine will be administered, he said.
Efforts should be made to ensure that villages are Covid-free in the district, he said, adding that towards this end, all departments should work in coordination. Implementation of lockdown effectively, maintaining physical distance and wearing of masks will help in containing the spread of virus, he said.
Targets should be made to conduct 130 to 140 RAT tests in each PHC and at least 25 tests in newly set up Basti Dawakhanas, he added.
