Mahabubnagar: District Collector S Venkat Rao has appealed to the people to cooperate with the government in containing the spread of Coronavirus and specifically urged all those aged above 45 years to get the vaccine administered.
The Collector was speaking after launching the Covid vaccine Mahotsav at Outreach Centre in Polepally SEZ at Jedcherla on Monday. The District Collector said last year, people had to face a lot of inconvenience due to the spread of Coronavirus. The situation was brought under control but with people being negligent towards wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, Covid-19 cases were increasing again, he said.
Pointing out that the State government had issued guidelines like wearing masks mandatory, he directed the officials to implement the guidelines strictly. As per government guidelines, vaccine was being administered to all those aged above 45 years. .
“I appeal to people aged above 45 years to make good use of the service being extended and stay safe,” Rao said.
Nearly 10,000 employees who are natives of different places work in the SEZ. All the managements in the SEZ should issue orders making it mandatory for their employees to get the Corona tests done and permit the employees to work only after producing the test results, he said.
Apart from those working in the TSIIC, arrangements should be made to administer vaccine even to those visiting the premises, the Collector said and ordered officials to approach TSIIC and get 10000 vaccine doses sanctioned for Polepally SEZ.
